Hi guys! Here's a summary of our 2nd alumni band prac (25Aug):

Announcements:
1. Section I/C to confirm with section members who cannot attend ALL the practices and pass the names to Kailing by 8Sep.
2. All members pls confirm if you can play for concert or not by 22Sep (4th prac) LATEST. *Section I/C pls help to inform your members who didn't come and get the names of the confirmed players by latest 22Sep.*
3. Sections to decide if they want additional sectionals or not and tell Kailing/Jieying and arrangements will be made with Mdm Zaibon accordingly if possible.
4. Sections who brought scores home pls remember to bring them back next practice (8Sep).
5. Pls check your email and the blog (http://www.hscaband.blogspot.com/) regularly for updates! =)

Hi All!

We understand that some alumni are unable to attend all the Saturday practices as they clash with school or other stuff. We're trying to think of other possible arrangements so that all seniors who want to play for the concert will have time to practise.
We'll need to discuss this with Mdm Zaibon. We'll try our best and update you guys asap. =)

Anyway, pls do get more alumni members to come down and play! DO NOT worry about how long you haven't practised with your instruments! Just come and join us =)

Thanks for EVERYONE who came for the first practice! Very nice of you guys! Phew, we were so afraid that nobody will turn up! For those who have missed today's practice, below is a brief outline of what we have done.

Finally! This coming saturday 18th Aug is our long awaited alumni band practice 2007!
Below are some details to note:

Practice starts at 9am. Try to come at 8.45am to prepare
If the security guard stop you, just tell him "I'M FROM THE BAND"
We have to leave the bandroom at 12.45pm. At 1pm, the alarm will sound -_-!
The school advise us to dress appropriately. Haha, maybe they are worried that we might forget to wear one side of our shoe. Ok la, what they mean is not to be too "lor-kor"(untidy).

We have already taken note of some players who are unable to come this saturday. Yup, so if you miss this saturday remember to check your emails, check this blog or maybe you can also ask your fellow section mates to see if there's any new updates!

Continue to inform more people who are interested to join the band! See ya all this saturday!

Hello!

Pls try to inform as many band people as possible about the concert this December and tell them about the practice dates as well! We do not have everyone's contact so it's quite difficult for us to spread the message, so we appreciate if all of us can inform one another! So far, we have over 50 contacts but we hope to see even more names! =) It'll be great if we can gather more alumni to join!!

Send us your contact number AND email address if you're interested in joining the concert! You can still give us your contact information even though you're not sure if you can join, we'll still send emails to update everyone on concert details and other stuff. =)

If you have any changes in your contact number/email address or have a particular email address you prefer us to send our emails to, pls update us via SMS/email to Kailing/Jieying or email to hscaband@gmail.com. Updating of contact information is very important because we need to ensure that everyone is informed of all updates & concert details.

Hai Sing Catholic Alumni Band
Welcome to the HSCAlumni Band webpage.

The Hai Sing Alumni Band has been actively involved in Hai Sing Catholic School. Since the formation of an extra-curricular activity(ECA) as a brass band in 1990 and then a wind band in 1995, the co-curricular activity has raised up many talented individuals who have made music their passion and carried on with it even as an alumni.

Alumni members of the HSC Band have always put in great support of her Alma Mater and the school’s Concert Band.

The HSC Alumni Band first took an active role since the school Concert Band’s first concert ‘A Christmas Story’ in 1999; the alumni and current students performing together. Thereafter, the Alumni Band was invited to play in a segment of future concerts such as the ‘Viva Musica' series (I, II, III, IV, and V).

The Alumni Band was invited to perform in the recent Hai Sing Carnival in March ’09. The 45min performance was a great success and brought a great experience to the school, alumni band and audience.

The Hai Sing Alumni Band will continue to be a support group to the school and school’s Concert Band. Under the umbrella of the Hai Sing Catholic Alumni and partnership of the HSC Concert Band, we hope to participate in many future school projects and even those hosted by the Concert Band and Alumni Band.
